Burj Dubai metro station
The Burj Dubai metro station on the Dubai Metro might open on 04 January 2010, the Burj Dubai opening date, according to a report in The National newspaper this morning. The RTA Director of Communications, Peyman Younes Parham, said “We are thinking about it but it is a complicated process to put just one extra station on the line,” referring to the Dubai Metro Red Line, which has 19 stations still being completed, with opening dates expected to be by end of February 2010.
The Burj Dubai station is between the Dubai Financial Center station (which is currently open) and Business Bay station (which is still under construction), and services the Downtown Burj Dubai area, including the Dubai Mall. It is still a long walk from the Burj Dubai station to the actual Burj Dubai tower, and even further to Dubai Mall, but the feeder buses should alleviate the pain of walking in Dubai’s midsummer sauna temperatures.
